We recently conducted an investigation to see where we stand today in terms of Sustainability & Risks. An interesting detail is that we have actually become much better at what is called resource efficiency. That is, the waste of materials is considerably lower than we have previously assumed.
We throw very little in the production step, and it depends on a few different things: In part, we are careful to collect all defective plastic parts and return them to the factory where they are ground down to become new products. We also collect bad circuit boards and replace components that do not work instead of just throwing away and taking a new one.
Before, we sent everything in boxes that were only used once, and quite a few boxes were used. We have now acquired solid boxes that can be used over and over again in order to reduce the use of new materials.
Because the production is mainly in the immediate area, the factory in Estonia is as close to Stockholm as Gothenburg, we also reduce the need for long transports. Transport is always a problem, and shortening it is a step in the right direction.
