We like greenwashing – Not.
But Science Based Target initiative is great!

That’s why we have now published our climate targets with the Science Based Target initiative.
The Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between several nonprofit organizations: CDP, the UN’s Global Compact World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). SBTi acts as a global independent body that validates that companies are meeting their climate goals by setting scientific climate targets in line with the Paris Agreement, i.e., to keep warming below 1.5° by 2050. Companies and citizens need to help each other achieve this goal, and Mousetrapper wants to take responsibility for our part.

Reduce emissions by 42%

As you can read on their website, the goal is that the temperature increase should not exceed 1.5°C. It means that we must reduce emissions within Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 42% by the year 2030, in comparison with the level in 2020 – as well as measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions.

SBTi is a collaboration between several nonprofit organizations: CDP, the UN’s Global Compact World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Submitting their climate targets to the Science Based Target initiative makes it harder for companies to greenwash their operations. If you meet the requirements, it becomes visible and evaluated in their public register. We hope many more companies will choose to do the same.
