Field Trip to NG Metall.
Insights into the Reality of Electronic Waste.

In November, all Järfälla staff visited NG Metall’s electronics recycling facility in Katrineholm. The visit provided insight into how electronic waste is currently managed and what is required to improve these processes.

For Mousetrapper, it is essential that everyone in the company understands why we strive to become climate-neutral one day. Seeing the recycling process firsthand made it strikingly clear how much electronic waste our society generates.

A Clear Process

NG Metall follows a structured process that begins with manually removing hazardous materials, such as batteries and harmful waste. The remaining materials are then mechanically sorted into various raw material categories, which are sent to smelters and other facilities for refinement and reuse. Today, over 96% of the materials are recycled into new products or energy.

Witnessing the entire process reinforced our awareness that we contribute to this mountain of waste and underscored the importance of improving our products to make a difference.
